is pleased to present Abel Macias LOS ANIMALES Original paintings on handmade paper
Opening October 8, 5-7 pm
Abel Macias is a painter and muralist taking inspiration from the natural world. Focusing on a variety of kaleidoscopic landscapes, as well as folkloric imagery drawn from his Mexican heritage, Macias applies a bold, expressive palette with textural brushstrokes. Macias entertains the notion that his paintings are not merely meant to be examined from his point of view but to be experienced from a more universal lens. He actively zooms in and out of focus, capturing both the grandeur and the minutiae of his subject matter. The result is a complex overlay where background and foreground blend seamlessly, and the space between objects dissolves.

From the Living Art’s site: Each episode follows contemporary artists working in a different American city. From the sun-washed walls of Los Angeles to the vibrant streets of Atlanta, from the jazz-infused culture of New Orleans to the stark desert landscapes of Marfa, LIVING ART captures the energy of artists nationwide and how they are transforming modern art.

Trying to stay positive and vigilant despite the depressing images coming from our BIG BEND NATIONAL PARK. NO BIG BEND WALL!
GOOD WOOD Paintings by Marion Quick Fifty folk stools by Camp Bosworth
WRONG 110 N Highland Ave in beautiful downtown Marfa
Marion Quick grew up in Marfa, Texas and is known for his paintings and solar etchings of the Big Bend landscape.
Camp Bosworth lives and works in Marfa, TX and is the better half of the Wrong team duo. His carved wooden stools are from pieces he’s been collecting for over 30 years — good wood too beautiful for firewood but no sure purpose until his decision to make 50 funky folky stools.
We hope you will join us. We will have Wrong Bar drink specials. And air cooled for your summer comfort.
