25 years ago today we went on a “date” to see George Jones at Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth. Two months later we visited the Big Bend and stopped in Marfa for just a moment that turned out to be the most spontaneous and second best decision of our lives.
We are celebrating today in the land of denim. We highly recommend the Kurashiki Museum of Folk Craft (photo location), Japanese Folk Toy Museum, Kurashiki Insect Museum, Ohara Museum of Art and Kurashiki City Art Museum.
will be closed on Friday, January 30 as part of the nationwide strike. We love our country. We love our town. We love our community. We refuse to be torn apart by hatred and fear.

Today, because of @an_design_kyoto We understand and appreciate a Japanese garden, temple and shrine a little more. Konchi-in, Nanzen-ji, Heian Jingu, Sanjusangen-do, Kawai Kanjiro Memorial House.
Pine trees, plum trees, turtles, cranes, tigers, perspectives in nature, stones and gravel and soba noodles made for a very beautiful, emotional and poignant day.
What’s going on in the States feels so much more acute here in Japan than being in Marfa. Weirdly. Being in nature today was good for the soul....
